<description>Nova students exceeded all expectations by sharing their creative pumpkins decorated as a favorite book character. Be sure to check out our picture gallery to see their wonderful creations. The top 20 pumpkins, as determined through a vote by all students in the school, earned the creator a coupon for a free pizza. Congratulations to all who participated.</description>

<description>Our Battle of the Books was held on Tuesday, May 24th when we competed against Silver Ridge Elementary and Pasadena Lakes Elementary. The competition was fierce and it was a close contest. Congratulations to Pasadena Lakes who will be competing in the district final on June 1st. Hats off to our students who prepared and gave them a run for the prize. One-half point was the only difference. Students, get ready for next year's Battle of the Books by reading Sunshine State Young Reader's Association Books over the summer. Giving &amp; Living is a 501(c)3, or a nonprofit organization. Giving &amp; Living is for kids by kids. Giving &amp; Living is and has been raising money for Joe DiMaggio Children&amp;#39;s Hospital. Giving &amp; Living is going to be hosting our 4th annual Howl-o-ween Costume Contest and raffle. There will be FREE ice cream and treats!! The Costume Contest and raffle will be held at TD Bank in Davie, 5943 Stirling Road o&amp;shy;n Friday, November 12 starting at 4:30. Anyone dressed in costume receives a FREE raffle entry. If you want to create your own reading list, you can log on using your student number and birthday as password (use the format of MM/DD/YYYY) just as you would to log in on BEEP. You can then search for books that are on the Accelerated Reader program and limit them by AR reading level and/or point value.</description>
